Candidate Support
We are the progressive wing of the NC Democratic Party. In an effort to forward our progressive platform and adhere to our stated goals, the Progressive Caucus of the North Carolina Democratic Party endeavors to support progressive candidates across our great state. If you are a progressive candidate, we want to hear from you to help your campaign succeed.
We offer support to progressive candidates running in:
General Elections
Democratic / Non-Partisan Primaries
Democratic Party Officer Elections
Democratic Party Affiliated Organization Officer Elections
How the Progressive Caucus can support your campaign
Endorsements will be awarded to no more than one candidate per position.
Democratic / Non-Partisan Primary candidates must return their completed questionnaire no later than 5:00 pm, on the January 9, 2024.
General Election candidates may apply any time prior to the election.
Democratic Party & Affiliated Organization candidates may apply any time prior to the election. However, we will attempt to award our party endorsements no later than 60 days prior to the election.
How to Apply for Progressive Caucus Support
If you are interested in applying for any type of caucus support, simply complete this short PCNCDP Candidate Support Request Form to start the process. We will send you an online questionnaire to complete. We will attempt to announce our decision as soon as possible.

1. Candidates must be registered as a Democrat in North Carolina to be considered for caucus support. The only exceptions are for unaffiliated candidates running in general elections when no Democratic candidate is running for the same position.
2. Our candidate support process is managed by our Endorsement Action Team (EAT) and all offers of caucus support must be approved by the Executive Committee of the Progressive Caucus.
