About ActBlue

What is ActBlue?

“ActBlue is a nonprofit, building fundraising technology for the left. Its mission is to democratize power and help small-dollar donors make their voices heard in a real way.” — From ActBlue’s about page.

Does it matter if ActBlue is signed in under someone else’s name?

Yes. We get your membership information from ActBlue.

Why does ActBlue have someone else’s name already filled in?

When you donate to ActBlue, it simplifies future donations by retaining your information. If you share your computer with someone else, it might have that person’s information.

If ActBlue has someone else’s name already filled in, what do I do?

Log out of ActBlue by clicking on the person icon in the upper-right corner of the ActBlue page and then clicking on Sign Out. Then log back in with your own account (if you have one), or create a new account, or donate without creating an account.

Why do you want my address and employment information?

We don’t! But as a caucus of the North Carolina Democratic Party, the State Board of Elections and Ethics Enforcement considers us a political party organization. We are, therefore, subject to campaign finance reporting requirements, which require us to collect this information. If you contribute more than $50 total in any election cycle (two year periods starting in odd-numbered years), we are also required to report this information and it will be made public.
